A family-built
collection
What began as a single rental born out of circumstance has grown into a collection rooted in care, hospitality, and a long-term vision for the future.
How it began
Our story began in 1995, when we were a young family building our first home in Imperial, California. At the time, we were simply two hardworking parents. I was a school teacher working in Corrections, and Ben was a counselor, raising two little girls and building a life we thought would stay rooted in one place.
But in 1997, life shifted. Ben was offered a transfer to California’s Central Valley, and with a newborn baby in our arms, staying behind wasn’t an option. We moved to Hanford expecting to sell our Imperial home quickly.
It didn’t sell.
So we rented it out, not as a business strategy, but out of necessity. That single decision became the beginning of our journey into property management and real estate investment.
Once settled in Hanford, we purchased a home there. Five years later, when the Imperial property finally sold, we used the proceeds to acquire two more homes, one in Hanford and another in Lemoore. With each step, we realized we were building something bigger than we had planned.
As our family grew to four children, so did our portfolio. Ben managed every property himself while working full-time, handling tenants, repairs, and the day-to-day operations with patience and determination. I continued advancing in my career and caring for our children, while Ben carried the weight of property management on his shoulders.
Over the years, we expanded further, acquiring a block of apartments in San Bernardino and later a long-term rental in Corcoran. These long-term rentals became the foundation of our real estate journey.
After 21 years of service, Ben retired from Paroles and continued managing our properties full-time. In 2022, after 29 years in education and as an administrator in corrections, I retired as well. Naturally, I wanted to join him, but with a new vision: mid-term and short-term rentals that offered comfort, design, and a memorable guest experience.
That vision led us to purchase a fully furnished model home in 2024, which we named The Arith House, a name honoring Ben’s mother and our daughter, who share the same name. The Arith House exceeded every expectation, welcoming guests from near and far and earning glowing feedback that fueled our passion.
Two years later, we expanded again, purchasing another furnished model home in Visalia. We named it The Dem Basil, and with that, our curated brand officially took shape.
We call it The Arith Collection, a growing portfolio of thoughtfully designed homes created to offer comfort, beauty, and a sense of belonging.
Today, the future feels incredibly promising. We anticipate continued growth as we refine our craft and expand our offerings. What motivates us most is the joy of hosting: the wow moments from our guests, the heartfelt reviews, and the opportunity to make every stay better than the last.

Our Journey
Three decades,
one family
Every home in the collection came from a decision made together, usually while raising four children and working full-time.

Built our first home in Imperial, California.

Moved to the Central Valley. The Imperial home becomes our first rental.

The Imperial home sells. We acquire two more, in Hanford and Lemoore.

2000s – 2010s
Expand into long-term rentals, including apartments in San Bernardino and a home in Corcoran.

Hello! We’re Ben and Rosy, lifelong educators and peace officers turned full-time hosts and property managers. What began with one unexpected rental in 1997 has grown into The Arith Collection, our family-built portfolio of thoughtfully designed homes.
We love creating warm, welcoming spaces that make guests feel cared for. Every home is prepared with intention, comfort, and the little touches that make a stay memorable.

The Next Generation
Ugochi
Our daughter Ugochi hosts alongside us. Guests write to say she replies quickly and looks after them properly, which is the highest compliment we could be paid.
We set out in 1997 to build something for our children. Thirty years later one of them is helping us run it, and the care we started with is being carried by the generation we built it for.
