Sequoia National Park
Home to the General Sherman Tree, the largest tree on earth by volume. The drive up from the Valley floor climbs quickly, so give yourself the day rather than rushing it.

The Central Valley
Some of our guests come for the mountains. Some come for work. The Valley is a good base for both, and after thirty years here we know it well.

Sequoia’s quieter neighbour, joined to it by road and jointly managed. Deep canyon country, and less crowded through the summer.

Day Trip
Between the Valley floor and the parks there is orange-grove country, small towns, and lakes that most visitors drive straight past. Ask us and we will point you at our favourites.
Close to Home
Both towns are small enough to feel friendly and big enough to have somewhere good to eat on a Tuesday. Open a door to see where we send guests.
A walkable main street with independent restaurants, coffee, and the Visalia Fox Theatre, a restored 1930s cinema that still runs films and live music. The closest thing the Valley has to a proper evening out.
Where we send guestsBuilt around a courthouse square, with the Carnegie Museum, a Thursday night market through the summer, and a downtown that has kept its old bones. The reason we settled here in 1997.
Where we send guestsIf You’re Here to Work
A good share of our guests are not on holiday. They are on a contract, on a build, or relocating. This part is for them.
Kaweah Health Medical Center in Visalia and Adventist Health in Hanford both sit within an easy commute of our homes. We have hosted a number of travel nurses on thirteen-week contracts and we know how that schedule works.
The Arith House is 14 miles from NAS Lemoore. If you are reporting in, house hunting, or visiting someone stationed there, that is a short and easy drive.
The Valley runs on agriculture, logistics, and construction. If you are bringing a crew, talk to us. We can be flexible on terms in a way a listing site cannot.
Moving to the area and not ready to buy? A furnished mid-term stay lets you learn the towns before you commit to one. We have watched a lot of families make exactly that decision.
Ask Us
Where to eat, what is worth the drive, which route to take when the fog sets in. Ask us when you book, or any time during your stay. We would rather you had a good trip than a quiet one.
